 第六课时

【教学目标】:1.用Wh-疑问词提问并回答。

2.用some和any讨论数量。

3.培养发现规律和认识规律的能力。

4.完成书后练习。5.词汇:film,holiday,cold, meeting ,when,why, train,money,by,season,January,February,March,April,May,June,July,August.September,October,November,December,Sunday,Monday,Saturday,spring,summer,autumn,winter,finish,kitchen,fishing,packet短语和句型

.【教学重点】:1.学习和掌握特殊疑问句的构成与用法2.掌握some和any的用法

【教学难点】:1.特殊疑问词的选用2.some在疑问句中的运用any在肯定句中的运用。

【教学过程】:Step I  Practice

Give Ss half a minute to complete a dialogue between Millie and her mother, then ask two of them to read out the conversation. Ask another two students to do the translation.

 

Step II  Presentation

 Present the usage of ‘Wh-’ questions. And offer some examples with words underlined to explain the functions of ‘Wh-’ words.

 

Step III  Presentation

 

 Focus on the family of ‘how’. Explain the usage of ‘how’ by doing typical exercises.

 

Step IV  Practice

Do exercises about ‘Wh-’ questions and help Ss get a better understanding of ‘Wh-’ questions.

Complete the exercises on P47-48 in the textbook and check. with the class.

 

Step V  Presentation

Ask Ss to fill in the blanks using ‘some’/ ‘any’, then present the usage of ‘some’/ ‘any’ in different situations.

Step VI  Practice

1. Ask Ss to make up sentences using ‘some’/ ‘any’ in different types of sentences in order to consolidate their understanding of the two words.

2. Do related exercises and finish the exercises on P49 and check..

Step VII  Speaking

Ask Ss to work in pairs and make up a dialogue about his/her birthday using the grammar points learnt in the class. Walk around class and offer help where necessary. Ask Ss to perform their dialogue in front of the whole class and point out the mistakes in their performance afterward.

Step VIII  Homework

Complete Period Six in the handbook

Finish the exercises in the workbook from page38 to page 41

第七课时

【教学目标】:1.找出海报和图片中的要点。

2.能通过阅读和听力获取有关信息

3.了解海外华人如何庆祝中国的传统节日

4.提高学生听、说读、写的综合语言运用的能力。掌握词汇:lion ,date ,place ,street, time ,firework, Chinatown, midnight, excited, 短语:lion dance.from……to….,take place,at night,so much,句型:1.Which is your favourite day in the year ? 2.When’s your birthday? 3.Who gives you the presents?4. It is my first time  to see it 5..Why do you like your  birthday  so much ?

【教学重点】:1学会找要点2学会听取信息3.词汇、短语、句型掌握。

【教学难点】: 综合语言运用的能力(整合信息)

【教学过程】Step I  Lead-in

Introduce some background information and show some related pictures.

 

Step II  Presentation

Explain the context of section A. Teach the new words: Lion dance, firework(s), Chinatown with pictures. Arouse Ss’ curiosity to learn about celebrations of Chinese festivals so far away from China.

 

Step III  Reading

Ask Ss to read about the poster, and then complete the table on their own with the information they can find from the poster.

 

Step IV  Listening

Play the tape for Ss and ask them to listen for the left missing details. After that, check in class.

Ask Ss to look at Wendy’s postcard and fill in as many of the blanks as possible from memory, then they can accord to the information in P46

Check the answer and ask some Ss to read out the postcard, checking for the correct pronunciation.

 

Step V  Speak up

Ask Ss to discuss ‘what do you do at Chinese New Year?’

Listen to the tape and set a question beforehand: ‘why does Millie like her birthday so much?’ then fill the blanks with the first letters of each missing word without looking at the books.

Ask Ss to read the dialogue first in pairs and then altogether.

 

Step VI  Practice

Ask Ss to change the model conversation to talk about their own favorite days. Role-play the conversations in front of class.

 

Step VII  Homework

Ask Ss to make a postcard for celebrating Chinese New Year.

 

第八课时

【教学目标】:1.培养学生采用良好的学习方法和技巧。

2.通过动手激发学生的学习兴趣。

3.复习一些与节日有关的词汇和短语。

 

【教学重点】:学习方法和技巧介绍。

 

【教学难点】:学习方法和技巧运用

【教学过程】:Step I   Lead-in

 

Step II  Presentation

Point out to Ss the importance of writing down useful phrases and grammar structures so that they can refer to them at a glance for revision.

Explain the context of this section. Show the important phrases and their examples on the screen.

 

Step III  Practice

Ask Ss to read the text together.

 

Ask Ss to retell the correct order of making flash cards.

 

Show Ss some more examples of flash cards and ask them to make some others by themselves, using 5 words from the this unit & 5 ‘Wh-’ questions asked by themselves. (Group work).

Check in groups if the ‘Wh-’ questions are correct before Ss write them on the flash cards.

Tell Ss they can also use this method to better memorize the saying of different festivals. Finish section B on P55

 

Step IV  Drilling

1.  Ask Ss what prepositions should be used putting before the festivals. Do some related exercise on the screen.

 

2.  Have a revision on ‘Wh-’questions

Set a limited time and ask Ss to finish the exercises in section A.

Check the answers in class and ask Ss to refer back to the Grammar section if they still cannot understand how to correct their mistakes.

 

Step V  Homework.

1.Finish the period 8&10 on the Handbook of Evaluation.

2.Make 2 sentences with each of the words: ‘what’, ‘where’, ‘who’, ‘when’, ‘why’, ‘whose’, ‘which’ and ‘how’.

【教学目标】:1.能写作有关节日及其庆祝方式的短文。

 

2.学习海报的制作。

 

3.通过制定写作计划,培养学生良好的写作习惯。4掌握.词汇:West,candle,warm,way.light, neighbour,shine, through,yesterday,短语:in the west, in many ways , give a treat of some candy,make …..out of,shine through…

 

【教学重点】:1.按计划写作文、制海报。2.词汇与短语的掌握

 

【教学难点】:.如何定写作计划

 

【教学过程】:Step I  Warming-up

 

Step II  Presentation

Explain the context and instructions

Ask Ss to read the writing plan. Tell Ss that the writing plans are very useful in helping ss focus on the contents of their writing assignment.

Explain to Ss the structure of the writing plan. The green boxes contain the key guiding questions. The purple boxes contain the answers to the questions. The orange boxes provide relevant details or related ideas.

 

Step III  Practice

1.Ask several Ss to read section A, make sure Ss can pronounce correctly.

 

2.Ask Ss to work in pairs to fill the blanks. Tell Ss to look at the pictures and ask them whether the pictures provide any useful information. Point out to Ss that decorations are nice but they should focus on including pictures, which actually tell part of the story or illustrate some key points. Explain that the use of colors can be very effective in giving the poster a particular feel.

 

3.Ask some Ss to read out the different paragraphs. Check for the correct answers and pronunciation.

Ask Ss to work in groups to make another writing plan of their favourite festivals, using Millie’s plan as a model

 

4.Show Ss an example of the writing plan for Chinese New Year.

 

5.Ask Ss to finish the plan and they should make sure the contents in the poster are exactly focus on the plan.

 

Step IV  Homework

1. Finish the period 9 on the Handbook of Evaluation

 

2. Write a writing plan first and then finish the poster according the plan.

【教学目标】:1.能熟练掌握与本单元有关的词汇与语法。

2.对本单元进行回顾与复习。

3.对所学内容进行自我检查

【教学重点】:本单元的词汇、短语、句型和语法复习。

【教学难点】:正确运用所学知识写一篇节日介绍。

Step IV Homework

Write an article “ My Favourite Festival”. Try to use the new words and sentence structures in this unit.
